This is the best way to summarise me and my motto in life. As I prepare to draw curtains on my MSc Marketing journey, I stand at the threshold of the professional world with my own unique experiences that make me the ideal candidate for your organisation!

I started my professional journey in the UK as a Resident Assistant, a role that has helped me acquire not just the UK culture and consumer behaviour from day one, but also allowed me to implement the learnings from my classroom to this role. Be it events or PR or social media management, I have exercised all of it to this role and honed my Marketing skills on a daily basis. This role also allowed me to be a good people manager and the ability to work in a team enhanced me as a team player. I then went on to gain pure corporate marketing experience through Level- E research, an Edinburgh- based Startup. Not only did I apply the theoretical learnings from my MSc, I started taking more leadership with my projects. Here, I became proficient in content creation and LinkedIn Marketing. Digital media is an extremely crucial aspect of all marketing in today’s time. To be able to specialise in all of them through my different roles has allowed me to gain skills and perception of the western market. However, learning is a constant process. I will never label myself as an expert in “marketing” for I know that it is an ever evolving area and I will need to adapt as the market changes. It is one of the main reasons I took up marketing for it allows me to constantly upskill myself.

As an International student, the challenges I faced were solid character defining moments for me. I have never shied away from a challenge. I understand problems are inevitable but I know that I will find a solution for it. I am aware of my weaknesses too. I know I might have trouble asking for help, from the fear of causing unnecessary trouble. Hence, I will keep working on a problem, until I feel that a good direction would help me steer forward. I have improved it as I have worked in more groups. Be it team challenges at the university or at work, I have often been given the role of a leader. I believe in taking inputs from everyone first and then delegating tasks, which led my team to be the winners for a consultancy project at the University of Edinburgh. I have been able to adapt this skill through multiple leadership roles I was put in back in India. I was made the Sales and Marketing head for the small business I joined as an intern. I was also made the team leader at a big influencer-marketing organisation. I was the founder of an NGO in India where we helped bridge the gap between poverty and a healthy menstrual cycle, and had bootstrapped it all, thanks to my entrepreneurial spirit and the business acumen I gained through the prestigious IIMB x NCW programme. Social causes have always stayed close to my heart and I believe in being the change! I was also the Marketing head for an animal welfare organisation and still do consulting for them.

Whenever I work for an organisation, I consider it like my own. This allows me to foster strong bonds and allows me to give my best. Being in the UK has equipped me with some of the best skills- time management, planning and organising. From being a full time student to managing two part time roles and overseeing two NGOs in India, alongwith a journey to the prestigious Edinburgh award, anyone would think I have a lot on my plate. But never have I ever felt overwhelmed. Thanks to my ability to schedule my day, allowing me great flexibility and a chance to network and learn from industry professionals. I believe there is so much one can learn just from the journeys and experiences of everyone who has already done that. I also believe in truly knowing oneself.

When you invest in me, you don’t invest for the present, you invest in a future. A future of integrity, discipline and leadership. Thank you for reading, I hope to connect with you soon.
